POLY-DEFORMATION OF THE ARCHAEAN GREENSTON EBELT IN THE HONGTOUSHAN AREA NORTHERN LIAONING PROVINCE

The northern area of Liaoniag Province is one of the better greenstone-belt-developing regions in China.The greenstone belt is made up of granulite-.plagi-oclase hornblendite.In the regional map,it assumes inclusions of unequal scalesa nddif ferent shapes,Which are distributed in the Archaean granite systems.The famous copper-zinc ore deposit of massive sulfide in the Hongtoushan area is a sector in the above-mentioned inclusion.The article has advanced that the Archaean greenstone belt underwent two-stage (four episodes) structure deformation in Precambrian, that is,the Anshan and Luliang deformation cycles,on the basis of structure measured and rock-structure map made in 20 km2 area of the copper-zinc ore diposit.The Anshan deformation is the main period of the greenstone belt deformation action?which cccurred between 25-28 hundred million years.This deformation is composed of three-episode plastic deformation order under amphibolite facies re- gional metamorphism type of middle pressure and temperature in 500℃-700℃, that is,deformation order consisting of acute fold episode of very strong plastic flow-strong fold episode-weaker plastic flod episode.This is an important characteristic of the greenstone belt structure deformation. We call it "the deformation order of Hongtoushan type".And the Luliang deformation cycle,which took place between 16-19 hundred million years, mainly formed deformation of fault and filling of basic magma.The ore deposit emerging in the Archaean greenstone belt is controlled by the turning end of high engle multiple folds and ductile faults which are caused by the second-episode strong fold in the Anshan deformation cycle, so that the second-episode structure deformation is an orientating structure to the formation of ore deposits.This article has minutely discussed the characteristics of the first and second episode fold deformation in the Anshan cycle and it also deals with the course of the development of structure deformation of the greenstone belt.
