CHARACTERISTICS OF SINIAN AND CAMBRIAN DIAMONDIFEROUS IN JIANGSU, SHANDONG, ANHUEI PROVINCE
Zhu Lianxing(Department of Geologyg)
The first diamendiferous conglomerates of bottom was found at Sinian (Z) and early Cambrian e-poch, east China. Conglomerates belong to Shandong Tumen formation underlain by Taishan formation. Conglomerates of Wushan , Jinshanzhai belong to early Cambrian series underlain by Tumen formation. The diamondiferous conglomerates lie on erosion surfaces and invariably occupy depressions of unconformities. Their bottoms are less regular than their tops . But it may be bedded, as in Tumen formation which attained thicknesses of a few-80m. They are formed along seathores by the concentrating effects of wave and shore action. Diamonds and gravels probably come orginally from weathered kimberlites.
