THE MESOZOIC MAGMATISM AND LITHOSPHERIC THINNING IN EASTERN CHINA

The comprehensive summary about the SrNd isotopic features of Cenozoic basalt and their mantle xenoliths indicates the present lithospheric mantle in Eastern China is intensively depleted and newly formed. The lithospheric thinning, most took place in Late Mesozoic, which was corresponded to the same age of large areal and intensive igneous activities in this area,became stronger from west to east in intensity.The detail analysis suggests this kind of lithospheric thinning is closely related to the diffusion of Indiantype asthenosphere in Mesozoic.
