FRACTAL ESTIMATION FOR RESOURCE EXTENT OF GOLD IN JIAODONG EXPLORATION FIELD

LIAN Chang_yun 1,SU Xiao_si 2 (1.Institute of Geology and Geophysics ,Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100101,China; 2.Changchun University of Science and Technology, Changchun 130026, China)
The concept of fractal has been widely used in geosciences since 1980’s. Recent studies have proven that the distribution of mineral resources, such as metallic deposits or oil and gas accumulations obeys power law, ie, fractal. Because fractal reveals the nature of spatial-temporal distribution of ore deposits, more effective results of estimation for resource extent of certain exploration area are expected. The paper calculates the gold extent endowed with undiscovered deposits in Jiaodong exploration field.
