PETROLOGY AND CHRONOLOGY OF GRANULITE XENOLITH IN DAOXIAN COUNTY,HUNAN PROVINCE

There are many deep source xenoliths with different lithologic composition in late Mesozoic basalt of Huziyan, Daoxian County, Hunan Province. One of them is granulite xenolith which is characterized by metamorphic hyperthene. The balance condition of temperature and pressure is: t =845~950℃; p = 0.734 GPa ; h =25 km. Samples of granulite xenolith whole rock and hyperthene and plagioclase minerals for Sm-Nd isotopic dating has been measured. Two-stage model age of whole rock is 1.76~ 1.77 Ga ; Isochronous age of minerals are (544±9) Ma, ε =-6.2. It has been supposed that the granulite xenolith were derived from lower crust. The source rock is a basic magma production during the rift stage of mid-Proterozoic era. Its Sm-Nd isotope was balanced again by the matamorphism of early Caledonian.
