A NEW APPROACH FOR INTERPRATATION OF MAGNETOTELLURIC DATA

In magnetotelluric(MT) data analysis, the observed apparent resistivity have been used as an interpretative parameter for a long time. However, apparent resistivity has limitations. There is new approach for interpratation of magnetotelluric data by using the method of phase-derivative. In this paper the specific property of phase-derivative was studied and used in the interpretation of MT data from northern Songliao basin. Electric features of profile A were thus obtained. The depth and resistivity of primary electric layers were delimited.
