A STUDY ON THE ECOLOGICAL GROUNDWATER TABLE IN THE NORTH CHINA PLAIN

In the North China Plain the overexploitation and utilization of groundwater has resulted in a series of geoecological problems, such as land salinization, soil desiccation, and seawater intrusion and so on. These ecoenvironmental problems relate to groundwater table, so this paper mainly discusses the ecological groundwater level in the North China Plain. The upper limit of the reasonable ecological groundwater burial depth is about 2.0~2.5 m for prevention and cure of soil salinization, and the lower limit is about 10 m for gaining maximum recharge from precipitation in alluvium plain and about 3~5 m in the middleeast plain of the North China Plain. 
