The innertransmitting wave motion, ie., the freefield motion in a layered halfspace background must be determined in order to calculate the motion of boundary nodes and input wave motion energy, when applying finite element in the simulation of the wave motion scattering problem. A time domain equation set is presented for calculating freefield motion of layered halfspace, taking side boundary nodes for the example. The equation set takes the consideration of decoupling motion equation of finite element and the relational formulae between neighboring nodes based on the horizontal propagating characteristics of a freefield motion system. The method gives a numerical exact solution in the sense of finite element, which can be applied to synchronized simulation of the innertransmitting and scattering wavemotion field in timedomain.
