Precise apparatus requires usually a strict environment to work with, i.e. it should be placed in a quiet site. To study how the attenuation of vibration wave caused by traveling vehicle, we conducted a test survey along highway using three component detector and 24 trace engineering seismic apparatus. We find that the amplitude of vibration declines as the distance increases, which can be described by y=A rα, while its frequency is restricted in 10~20 Hz. This finding can be used as a guideline in locating survey apparatus in similar studies and it is reasonable to filter out 10~20 Hz to eliminate vehicle disturbances.
