It's of great significance to study geochemical element distribution patterns by using fractal and multifractal methods. Based on a typical multifractal method-the method of moments, this paper studied the multifractal spectrum function shapes of some elements in metallic geochemical fields. The data include 25 elements of 1448 whole rock samples from a region of 4 292 km2 in the north Guangdong as a case study had been applied. The results indicate that:the metallic geochemical fields are multifractal and there are two kinds of multifractals named left-deviation continuous multifractal model(LCM model) and right-deviation continuous multifractal model(RCM model), here. And LCM model is closely related to some major ore-forming elements and those non-ore-forming elements are associated with RCM model to some degree.
