STUDY ON THE METHOD OF EVALUATING FRACTURE INTENSITY FROM CONVENTIONAL LOGS CALIBRATED IMAGING LOGS

Imaging logs have good effect in evaluating the geological characteristics of subsurface carbonate reservoirs, but their cost is high. The authors have investigated the correlativity between conventional logs and intensity of fractures and/or vugs, and set up relationships between them using multi-variants linear regression. Then the fracture density, fracture porosity, vug density and vug area can be calculated from conventional logs. The application results indicate that the effect is preferable because calculated parameters over the fractured and/or vuged section appear to be high.
