Application of isotopic technique in the research of the affected range of lateral seepage of the down-Yellow River water

One of current research hotshots in isotope hydrology is to determine the relationship between river and groundwater by isotopic technique. Spatial and temporal distribution of δD,δ~(18)O and Tritium are obtained based on 67 groundwater and the Yellow River water samples in the four sections hanged along the lower reaches of the Yellow River. Characteristics of tritium and δ~(18)O of phreatic water show that there existed a close hydraulic relationship between the Yellow River water and groundwater. The affected width by the river is narrow in Zhengzhou region in the south river bank with the width of about 5 km. The affected width increases gradually eastwardly,which is about from 7~10 km in Zhongmou- Kaifeng region. However, the affected width is larger in north bank than in south bank. The typical width is from 9 ~ 20 km.
