Test Studies and FEM Analysis on Structural Performance of Embankment Slopes Reinforced by Geogrids

Based on the small scale model tests,a comparative analysis on the deformation performances of different tests condition for geogrids reinforced/unreinforced slopes were studied,which include the combination of two kinds of slope angles,two types of geogrids and three different reinforcement layers.The results shows that the geogrids will improve evidently the stability and the capacity of the slopes reinforced slopes,Vertical and lateral displacements remarkably decrease with the increase of ultimate strength of geogrid and reinforcement layers and with the decrease of slope angle.Furthermore,a finite element method is adopted to simulate the tests results,the simulated results agree well with the tests results.
