The Pretreatment for Furfural Wastewater by Iron-Carbon Micro-Electrolysis and Coagulation

An iron-carbon micro-electrolysis and coagulation process was used to treat furfural wastewater.The effect of the granularity of iron filings and active carbon,hydraulic retention time,wastewater pH on treatment was studied.The results showed that COD_(Cr) removal rate reached to 80% and BOD_(5)/COD_(Cr) increased from 0.38 to 0.70 under the conditions of the granularities of iron filings and active carbons,wastewater pH and hydraulic retention time were 1~2 mm,1 mm,2.10~2.40,and 40 min,respectively after coagulation.This could benefit to following biochemistry process.
