An Optimization Model of Clay Mineral Transformation Under Overpressure Setting

Temperature,time and fluid-composition are currently the most frequently used controls in mode-ling the transformation of clay minerals.However,the latest studies suggest that overpressure can retard the clay mineral transformation.Taking overpressure's retardation on clay mineral transformation into consideration,a new optimum model has been developed,in which the overpressure inhibitory factor is calculated with the method of optimization,and the modeled error of S in I/S mixing layer is minimized.The model has been tested in a Mesozoic basin and a Cenozoic basin,and the results show that the computed S in I/S is coincident with the measured data nicely,and S in I/S is retarded by 15%~20% in the overpressure formation with the pressure coefficient of 1.2-1.7.
