AN APPROACH FOR DISPOSING KARSTIC SPRINGS IN THE MANA-GEMENT MODEL OF KARSTIC WATER SYSTEM OF NORTH CHINA

This paper deals with the problem of numerical simulation and optimalmanagement of the ground water system with karstic springs.The spring discharge isexpressed firstly in the form of natural discharge rate per unit area contvolled by theground water head,then embedded appropratoly into the numerical simulation model ofthe ground water system. In the management model,the variable part of the springdischarge contvolled by the artificial withdrawl rate is treated as decision variable. Theexpression formulation of the relationship between the spring discharge and the groundwater head is embedded into the managemout model in the form of equated constraints.Inthis way the ground water system with springs could be simulated and managedsuccessfully.
