The Ludong orogen was formed from the collisional zone which was resulted from the collision of the Yangtze continental segment which the Jiao-Liao kern in middle or late proterozoic ear. And the collisional zone substanially uplift orogenically in indo-Chinese epoch stage of Yanshan. At the points of tectonism and magamism, the orogen can be divided into two tectonic units, i.e, Jiaobei uplifting and Eastern Shandong-Northern Jiangsu melange belt. The extensive high pressure and high pressure metamorphic belt in the melange belt was formed by ultrahigh-pressare and high-pressure metamorphism in the original area during the movement of the continental collision.
