THE GEOLOGICAL AND GEOCHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE HOST ROCKS OF DASHUIGOU INDEPENDENT TELLURIUM ORE DEPOSIT IN SHIMIAN COUNTY,SICHUAN PROVINCE

Yin Jianzhao Chen Yuchuan Zhou Jianxiong (Institute of Mineral Deposits, Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, Beijing 100083) Yang Baichuan (Sichuan Nonferrous and Precious Company, Chengdu 610041)
The host rocks of Dashuigou independent tellurium ore deposit are mainly green schist facies metamorphic rocks. The protogenic rocks of these metamorphic rocks were thought by the previous researchers to be terrigenous clastic sediments. The authors of this paper researched on the geological characteristics including the occurrence, the petrography and the accessory minerals of the host rocks, chemical composition, silicon isotopes and REE of the host rocks of Dashuigou independent tellurium ore deposit. On the basis of the study on the geological and geochemical characteristics of the host rocks, the authors of this paper concluded that the protogenic rocks are not terrigenous clastic sedimentary rocks, but tholeiite from the mantle.
