PYRITE CRYSTAL MORPHOLOGY AND ITS PROSPECTING SIGNIFICANCE IN THE GOLD DEPOSIT OF PINGDING MOUNTAIN

Li Xianzhou (Changchun Univ. of Earth Sci. 130026)  
With the research of the crystal shape of pyrite in the gold deposit of Pingding Mountain, the author found that the surface microtexture of pyrite orystal exist diversity in diflerent geological bodies. The diversity reflects the charateristics of the surroundings when pyrites crystallize. In the different mineralization stages, pyrites have different features about crystal shapes and grain gradsizeses. The crystal euhedron and coarse-grained pyrifes are charaeterized as gold-free, however, the non-orystal shape and fine-grained pyrites are gold-bearing.
