CHARACTER OF DEVONIAN REEF FROM JINSHAN—DASHISHAN REGION OF PANXI, HUANING

Hong Tianqiu Dai Qingming (Hefei University of Technology, Hefei 230009) (Kunming Institute of Technology,Kunming 650093)  
A Middle-Upper Devonian coral reef assemblage was studied in Jinshan Dashishan region near the station of Panxi, Huaning of Eastern Yunnan Province. Tabulate corals with massive and twig compounds are the most important reef-building organism, mainly including Alveolites and Thamnopora. In the reef district four microfacies of coral types have be recognized.The spacial distribution of reef-building organism and microfacies types show that the studied reef went through three evolutionary stages(stabilization, diversification and dead phase). The shallowing of the sea water and its salting led to the reef died.
