THE GEOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE EXTENSIONAL PASSIUE CONTINENTAL MARGIN OF XIBAO’AN STAGE IN CENTRAL JILIN PROVINCE

Jia Dacheng, Lu Yan (Changchun University of Sci. and Technology, Changchun 130026)
The volcanic sedimentary sequences Xibao′an stage to the north of DunMi fault zone are belived to be the lowermost part of the north fold zone of North China plate. The existence of an extensional passive continental margin with three continuous evolution stages is proven by the rock sequences and their petrochemical characteristics. It is suggested that the continental margin is formed by rifting and extensional thining of a transional crust from the Early Proterozoic pangen.
