THE SPATIAL-TEMPORAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ELEMENT ASSOCIATIONS OF VEIN 1 IN SHANCHENG GOLD ORE DEPOSIT

Shancheng gold ore deposit is a fault controlled quartz-vein type gold ore deposit in Shandong province. The element associations and their spatial temporal distribution are discussed based on synthetic analyses of multiple geological and geochemical information. It is shown that the element associations are in correspondance with some mineralization stages and structural positions. The Pb-Ba association is related to the first stage of quartz vein and spatially the variation of dip angles of the fault surfaces. Both the Au-Ag-Cu and As-Sb-Hg associations are related to the main mineralization stage and the variation of strikces of the fault surfaces, indicating horizontal shearing. The indicator elements, their limitations and the plunging and extension of the ore bodies are further discussed. It is proposed that the indicator element associations are indicative only when considering the related mineralization stages.
