Concept Cartoons Approach and its Application in Teaching

Concept Cartoons approach was proposed by Keogh Naylor in 1992 as a kind of teaching aid.Afterwards,it gradually develops into a kind of teaching strategies and is used in multiple disciplines.Through the visual mode,like cartoon pictures or use of multimedia with cartoons being inserted,the pre-concepts in students' daily life are integrated with concepts of a certain discipline.Students' cognitive conflict can be raised by way of dialogues between cartoon characters in order to realize their further understanding,exploration and reconstruction of discipline concepts.Concept Cartoons approach can be used for teaching introduction,teaching effect test.It can also be used as a teaching aid for classroom organization.Meanwhile,it provides a brand-new perspective and method for classroom introduction,organization of classroom teaching and evaluation of children's pre-concepts.
