New Consideration on the Origin of Cassiterite-sulfide Deposits in Longtou Mountain, Dachang, Guangxi

The special position of the cassiterite, lead and zinc-sulfide deposits exis-ting in the organic reef in Longtou Mountain is controlled by tectonic factorsand is affected obviously by a hypabyssal granite body. The minerogenetic elements originate mainly from strata, with the excep-tion of tin, wolfram and part of the copper. These elements were originallycarried by gushing hot water caused by the splitting movement of the earlyHercynian. Afterwards, they occured dispersedly in the mudstone and shaleof the Devonian basin facies. With increasing depth of burial and strongfolding, the minerogentic elements were released by the action of hot brine andmigrated to a suitable tectonic and lithologic position, such as an organic reef.The hot brine mixed with an ore-hydrothermal solution of the Yanshan move-ment strongly replaced the reef rock which had been active and porous. conse-quently a bed-like deposit was formed. The cassiterite-sulfide deposit in Longtou Mountain is a strata-bounddeposit which resulted from the mixture of hot brine and a hydrothermalsolution.
