THE EMEI TAPHROGENESIS AND THE NEW REGIONS FOR SEARCHING GAS IN THE WESTERN PART OF SICHUAN BASIN

The crust of west part of Sichuan Basin was in the state of extension snd underwent stronglyextensional movement, that is, Emei Taphrogenesis, from the end of Silurian to late Triassic. Per-mian,Permian and Triassic were the outset, peak and close stages of the Emei Taphrogenesis, respectively.The structural framework, formed by Emei Taphrogenesis, controlled the sedimentation and diagenesis,thus more or less controlled the distribution of hydrocarbon in the area.
