INVERSION OF FRACTURE DENSITY AND AZIMUTH USING P-WAVE SEISMIC DATA

Utilizing seismic amplitude versus incidence azimuth, one can predict the fracture azimuth quantitatively and determine the fracture density qualitatively from P wave seismic data. The method is simple, stable and operable. Based on this method, the authors use the generalized linear inversion (GLI) to overcome the calculation errors coming from the seismic amplitude compensation and azimuth calculation. To make this method more applied, the authors put forward ASEC (adjacent surface combination), CORAR (common offset real amplitude revision), other methods and the applied process flow. Real 3 D seismic data calculating results show that this method and flow have a rather strong anti jamming ability. The result of inversion is stable and trusty.
