APPLICATION OF GIS-BASED INFORMATION MODEL ON ASSESSMENT OF GEOLOGICAL HAZARDS RISK

The assessment of geological hazards risk by combining information method model with geographical information system is discussed in this paper. The basic way of thought is that the layered management of the geological environmental data is realized by means of making the best use of the powerful spacial graph and property data management ability of GIS. Then, the spacial analysis module of GIS based information on assessment of geological hazards risk is developed. At last, GIS based information model is applied in the research area from Badong to Xintan in Three Gorge area of Changjiang River. The result shows that the combination of information method model with GIS is effective in assessment of geological hazards risk.
