Factors influencing sandstone reservoir quality in Donghetang Formation, Tarim Basin, China

The sandstone in Devonian Donghetang Formation is one of the main exploration stratigraphic horizons in Tarim Basin. The sandstone is deposited in the coastal marine environments, mainly in beach and offshore bars. The lithology is mainly characterized by quartz sandstone, lithic quartz sandstone and sparthic quartz sandstone. The porosity consists mainly of intergranular pores, secondary pores minorly, oversize pore and micro pore occasionally. The factors which influence the development of reservoir are sedimentary facies, the size of granular, the amount of calcite and diagenesis. The sedimentary facies may be the main factor influencing the quality of the sandstone reservoir in Donghetang Formation.
