Study on debris flow features and hazards of the Ermaluoxi gully on Meigu river,Sichuan,China

The Ermaluoxi gully of the reservoir zone of the Niuniuba hydropower station on Meigu river develops along the Ermaluoxi fractures,the landslides and fallings are widely distributed along the gully.Based on the survey of the debris flow site,this paper analyses the debris flow formation conditions and liquid dynamics features of the Ermaluoxi gully and educed that the formation conditions are sufficient and the scale is medium.The authors also make a scientific prediction for the trend of the debris flow activities and estimates the hazards situations.Based on analyses and summarization of the blocking river debris flow gully of the Minjiang river and the Xiaojiang river in Yunnan,the paper educes the experiential discriminant of the debris flow blocking the main river and assesses the hazards level of the debris flow blocking the Meigu river.These research results provide an important suggestion for debris flow control work in order to guarantee the safety of the Niuniuba hydropower station.
