Study on mineral compositions of the ore from the Xiongcun Cu(Au) deposit in Xietongmen County,Tibet,China

The Xiongcun Cu(Au) deposit is an ultra-large Cu(Au) deposit and an epithermal low grade impregnation deposit.The detailed study on lithology,ore minerals and authentication of almost 400 pieces of polished sections and thin sections,and systemic documantation of drills can help to discuss ore type and composition,etc.There are three types of ore,that is,oxidation ore,secondary sulfide ore and low grade impregnation ore.Cu is the most main component and the useful accompanying elements are Au,Ag,Zn,Pb,etc.The dominant metallic minerals are chalcopyrite, pyrite,magnetite,pyrrhotite and the subordinate metallic mineral is chalcocite.The dominant non-metallic mineral are quartz.It accounts for about 60%~70% of the all minerals.The subordinate non-metallic minerals are andalusite,feldspar,plagioclase,biotite,muscovite,sericite,epidote,garnet and so on.In this paper,the ore characteristics of the Xiongcun Cu(Au) deposit are dwelt on in terms of the mineral composition,chemical constitution,and structural formation.
