A discussion on the diversities of the source rock and hydrocarbon-generating evolution in the adjacent depressions of the Tanlu fault zone in China

A number of Meso-Cenozoic petroliferous basins in the eastern part of continental China are distributed over both sides of or inside the Tanlu fault zone.It is evident that the formation and evolution,and distribution of these petroliferous basins are related to the development and evolution of the Tanlu fault zone.Based on the reconstruction of the tectonic subsidence history of the adjacent depressions of the Tanlu fault zone,this paper analyses the diversities of the paleo-thermal field evolution and development,and the quality of main source rocks.It also discusses the internal relation between the Tanlu fault and hydrocarbon-generating evolution of the adjacent depressions.The authors think that the control of the Tanlu fault zone on the hydrocarbon-generation and accumulation of its adjacent depressions is macroscopical.The important influence on the distribution of oil-gas in the depressions is caused by tectonic(rifting) activites around or inside the depressions along the Tanlu fault zone.
