The formation mechanism and filling response of the Jianghan multi-cycle superimposed basin

The formation of the Jianghan superimposed basin is related to four stages of tectonic evolution: the plate splitting-drift-convergence during Nanhuaian-Silurian periods;the distal end effect of riftogenesis and extension-subduction shut down stage during Devonian-Middle Triassic periods;the overthrusting and compaction stage of Qinling-Dabie orogenic belt during Late Triassic-Jurassic;the fault sag cycle stage influenced by the distal end effect of the West Pacific Ocean Plate and India Plate subduction during Cretaceous-Quaternary period.During the extending period of the first tectonic stage,the sediments in the basin were dominated by land source clastic deposits,characterized by platform development during thermal subsidence,dominated by land source clastic deposits in the late compression basin;the lateral lithofacies differentiation of filling bodies was obvious during the extending period of the second tectonic phase,and the platform carbonate rocks developed during thermal subsidence;the third and fourth tectonic stages are characterized by the continental facies compensation filling in the basin.
