Research on the geochronology of forming the gas pools of Member 2 of Xujiahe Formation in the middle West Sichuan depression,China

By analyzing the period of hydrocarbon-generating and-discharging of source-rocks,researching K-Ar isotopic dating and examining the homogenization temperatures of inclusions,and so on,the authors think that there are at least three oil and gas accumulation periods in the reservoir of Member 2 of the Upper Triassic Xujiahe Formation in middle part of West Sichuan depression.They are the depositional evening of Xujiahe Formation,the Middle Jurassic to the Late Jurassic evening and the Ximalayan period.Among them,the second period is the most important accumulation period of oil and gas.The gas pools in the center of subsidence and its perimeter have the upper accumulation period,for example,Well Chuanya 95,Well Jinshen 1 and Well Mashen 1.But Well Chuanxiao 565,Well Chuangao 561 and so on,that are off the center of hydrocarbon-generating have the later accumulation periods.This indicates that the distribution of the early hydrocarbon-kitchen can control the distribution of the paleoreservoir.Both theory and practice indicate that the association of the analysis of the period of hydrocarbon-generating and-discharging of source-rocks,the K-Ar isotopic dating and the homogenization temperatures of inclusions is an effective method to research the accumulation date of oil and gas,and it is worth spreading further.
