APPLICATION OF ESR DATING TECHNIQUE TO FRACTURED RESERVOIR

The formation age of fractures in reservoirs is still unknown. It influences the migration of oil and gas, and the reservoir characteristics. Based on the successful application of ESR dating, the buried age of fluvial sediments of Quaternary is ascentained. The formation age of the fracture of Xujiahe group during late Triassic is measured by ESR dating. This paper discusses the migration of oil and gas, and the reservoir characteristics influenced by fracturing. It also discusses the relationship between fractures and traps.
