A STUDY OF THE EFFECT OF THE DISCOLORING IMPURITIES ON A LOW-BRIGHTNESS KAOLIN

Discoloring impurities lowers the brightness of kaolin and limits its use. This paper discussesthe discoloration effect of the impurities on a dark sedimentary kaolin. It is impossible to beneficiate alow-brightness kaolin into a high-brightness product by a traditional processing technology. However to convert kaolin into amorphous silica is a practicable and utilizable method.
