The paper introduces the basic principles and general steps of mass transfer modeling of water-rock systems and an example is given.Based on the changes of chemical composition and redox state between two point in the flow path,mass transfer models are constructed and solved to reveal the internal process and quantitative relation of water-rock exchange.Mass transfer modeling is of importance to many research fields such as transport and evolution of pollutants,chemical dissolution of rock,water quality of grundwater and thermowater mineralization and so on.
