The AVHRR data of NOAA satellite and the method of correcting the atmospheric vapour are used to inverse the ground temperature. The intensity and thickness of inversion on west-east hiliside fields of Ailao mountain are analysed. The result shows that the way using NOAA satellite data to explain the inversion in mountainous area is available.
