C,X-band dual linear polarization Doppler radar data quality analysis

The dual linear Doppler radar is a method used to detect and study the structure of the precipitation particle phase and obtains a great many research results.But as a special radar it is difficult to analyze and pretreat the data and evaluate the performance of the radar detection.Based on the data of the rainfall events observed by the C-band dual linear polarization radar of the State Key Lab of Severe Weather and the X-band dual linear polarization radar of the Beijing Academy of Meteorological Sciences the SNR is analyzed with the differential reflectivity ZDR,ρHV based on the credibility of the radar data.The research shows that when the SNR is less than 20dB,Zdr is greatly impacted by the system error and ρHV becomes incredible.The revised ZDR by the method of the system error can reflect the actual situation better.The KDP fitting coincides with the actual situation to achieve the results of the quantitative estimates of the precipitation and phase identification accuracy.
