ABNORMAL PRECIPITATION AND MODIFICATIONAL FACTORS IN FLOOD PERIODS OF THE SOUTHWEST CHINA

S hen Hongbin (Zhuhai Airport Meteorological Station,Guangdong Province) Zhang Yi (Artificial Precipitation and Hail Suppression Office of Chengdu)
In this paper, using the precipitation data acquired from 31 stations, the spatial and temporal distribution of the abnormal precipitation of the flood period(from April to September) in 42 years (1951~1992) were analysed by the Empirical Orthogonal Function (EOF).It is shown that there are three rainfall types. And then, the effect and mode of the flood period, precipitation and the rainfall types in Southwest China, the intensity of subtropical high, western ridge point of subtropical high, western ridge point of subtropical high, southern oscillation index, plateau heating index were analysed and discussed by using the correlation function and spectrum analysis.
