Economics of Language in Catchwords

Catchwords are words popular in a certain society of a certain time. Its popularity reflects the features of a certain tirae, especially the economic feature. From the spreading and disappearing of them, we can have a glimpse of the interactive forces between language and econo-my, and the observation of the catchwords may enrich our study of Economics of Language, for the forman'on, transmission and breakthrough forces of the catchwords have just reflected the principles of brevity, equilibrium and least effort in economics.
