Pour Depressant and Its Effects on Pour Depressing

The main mechanism of pour depressing includes crystal nucleus effect,absorption effect and cocrystallization,whereas cocrystallization is widely acceptive.The effectiveness of pour depressing depends on the constituent of crude oil,such as wax,distribution of wax carbon number,resin and asphaltene.In addition,it also depends on pour depressant molecular structure.Based on crystallization mechanism,effective pour depressant should meet the requirements of carbon chain matching and crystallization temperature matching.Appropriate polar group in pour depressant can also improve the effectiveness of pour depressant.
