PROGRESS OF SUSPENSION SAMPLING ATOMIC ABSORPTION SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND ITS APPLICATION

As a sensitive, rapid and selective method, atomic absorption spectrophotometry has been extensively applied in the determination of trace elements in foods, biological samples and environmental samples. But all the samples must be pretreated by dry digestion process or wet digestion process, which are tedious and time-killing , and during which the samples may be contaminated and the trace elements in the samples may be lost impartially. Suspension sampling atomic absorption spectrophotometry can effectively solve these problems.The trace elements in foods, biological samples and environmental samples can be determined rapidly and accurately by this technique.Some committed items in suspension sampling atomic absorption spectrophotometry, such as the selection of matrix improving agents, preparation of the suspension and the selection of temperature programe, have been discussed and were describled in details the application of suspension sampling atomic absorption spectrophotometry in the determination of the trace elements in foods, biological samples and environmental samples.
