Study Synthses of Cyclohexanone Ethylene Ketal

Cyclohexanone ethylene ketal was synthesized from cyclohexanone and ethylene glycol in the presence of amino sulfonic acid.The results obtained indicate that amino sulfonic possessed a fairly high catalytic activity.The effects of cyclohexanone/ethylene glycol molar ratio,the amount of amino sulfonic catalyst,and species of solvent on the yield of cyclohexanone ethylene ketal have been investigated.The yield of the product could reach 80.4% under mole ratio of cyclohexanone,ethylene glycol and amino sulfonic acid were 1:1.5:0.05,cyclohexane as solvent,refluxing and water segrating for 60 min.
