A Study of SOD and POD Isozyme Patterns of Two Varieties of Lespedeza bicolor

An analysis of the superoxide dismutase(SOD) and peroxidase(POD) isozymes of two varieties of Lespedeza bicolor,one from Yanbian of northeastern China's Jilin province and the other from Chicheng of Hebei province,has been conducted,using polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis method.The result shows that the SOD isozymes of the two varieties are similar or identical with number of isozyme bands,rate of catalytic activities and kinetic properties in their stems,leaves,pods,seeds.Their POD isozymes,except during the flower budding period when the Yanbian Lespedeza bicolor leaf blades have one more A band than those of the Chincheng variety,have similar characters during the rest of their growth period in the number and form of isozyme bands,catalytic activities and kinetic properties.
