Soil Content of Phosphorus and Potassium in the Agro-Pastoral Transitional Zone After Cropland Being transformed into Grassland

A study,comparing the soil content of phosphorus and potassium in a plot of grassland that has been transformed from cropland with that of a plot of wheat field in the agropastoral transitional zone,reveals that the quickacting P and K in a soil depth of 0~20 cm of the former are higher than those of the latter of the same soil depth.Land cultivated with wheatgrass and smooth bromegrass could effectively have its soil content of quickacting P and K enhanced.Mixed sowing of Siberian wildrye and smooth bromegrass(3∶1) could raise the soil content of quickacting phosphorus,while smooth bromegrass and wheatgrass sowed in a ratio of 3∶1 could raise the soil content of quickacting potassium effectively.
