Characteristics of Megaspore and Microspore Development and Flowering Habits of New Elymus canadensis L.Strain

Characteristics of microspore and megaspore development and flowering habits of new Elymus canadensis L.strain,and its development of microspores and megaspores were observed by paraffin method.Flowering dynamic was counted during flowering stage using a regression method to analyze the relationship between flowering,temperature,and humidity.Results showed that the meiosis of pollen mother cells was by successive cytokinesis,and the embryo sac development was of a single spore.In the Hohhot area,there is a new strain of flowering in the middle and late July each year.The flowering stage was about two weeks and the bloom stage was about seven days.The flowering number reached maximum on the sixth day.The flowering time focused on 13:00 to 18:00 in the afternoon every day.The optimal temperature was about 28°C and optimal relative humidity was about 43%for flowering.
