Application of Diffusion Tensor Imaging Technique in Acupuncture Research

Objective:To discuss the application of diffusion tensor imaging technique in acupuncture research.Methods: Make an introduction about its fundamental principles in techniques,and summarize the clinical application,application combined with functional magnetic resonance imaging and advantages in acupuncture research.Conclusion:As a noninvasive technique,DTI has great advantages on showing the distribution of white matter fiber pathway and its three-dimensional structures in living body.It has great significance for the study of anatomization and function of the brain,and plays an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of the diseases of white matter.When applied to acupuncture research,DTI is very helpful to evaluate the therapeutic effect of acupuncture and reveal the underlying central mechanism of acupuncture effect.
