Energy Saving Mechanism of Solvent Selection During Microwave-assisted Extraction

Based on the energy equation of the process on microwave heating,a relational expression among the temperature changing,microwave absorption power density,and molar specific heat of solvent is derived.This relationship shows that by choosing the solvent that has small ratio of the product of density and molar specific heat to microwave absorption coefficient,and low boiling point,energy can be effectively saved.This conclusion can provide a theoretical guide for the selection of solvent in microwave-assisted extraction process.
