Study on FBG Strain Sensor and Demodulation

LV Chen-gang 1, WU xing 2, GE Chun-feng 2, ZHANG Rui-feng 2 (College of Precision Instrument & Opto-electronic Engineering, Tianjin University, Tianjin 300072, China)  
A new approach for microstrain sensing based on wavelength change of fiber Bragg grating under strain is proposed and demonstrated. A couple of FBG are used to demodulate the output signal,simultaneously achieve temperature compensation.The theoretical analysis and the experimental fitting curve are given.The researches indicate that the system has advantages of simple configuration,easy operation and high sensitivity(under 1 με).
