Electrochemical Performance and Determination of Gallic Acid at the Nafion/SWNTs/P3MT Hybrid Film Modified Glassy Carbon Electrode

A poly(3-methylthiophene)(P3MT) modified glassy carbon electrode coated with Nafion/single-walled carbon nanotubes film(Nafion/SWNTs) was fabricated and used for investigating the electrochemical performance and the determination of gallic acid(GA).The experimental results suggest that the composite films modified electrode combining the advantages of P3MT,SWNTs and Nafion exhibits dramatic electrocatalytic effect on the oxidation of GA and results in an obvious enhancement of the current response.This method is simple,rapid and effective to detect the GA by the cyclic voltammetry(CV) in two intervals,viz.4.0×10-7~4.0×10-6 mol/L and 6.0×10-6~6.0×10-5 mol/L,with correlation coefficients of 0.998 3 and 0.999 6,respectively.The detection limit of GA can be estimated to be 8.0×10-8 mol/L(S/N=3).The method has been applied to the determination of the content of GA in green tea drinking with satisfactory results.
